Removal of operational deposits from the internal surfaces of steam producing boiler tubing and other components has become an absolute maintenance problem in their boilers and modern equipments. Tube cleanliness becomes increasingly more important in high pressure boilers for two obvious reasons (a) higher operating temperatures reduce the temperature elevation that can be tolerated with out exceeding metal creep limits (b) higher temperatures are conducive to chemical corrosion.

Purpose of cleaning

The hydrogen damage and caustic corrosion may cause tube failures at temperatures below the creep limit and a relatively smaller quantity of deposit creates difficulties in high-pressure boilers. During operation mill scale is readily loaded from the steam generating surfaces and may subsequently be redeposited in critical areas.

Advantages of chemical cleaning

2. The total cost is less
3. Inaccessible areas such as small tubes, short radius tube bends and irregular surfaces are readily cleaned since the cleaning medium (circulation) has access to all locations reached by water or steam
4. Better and thorough cleaning and removal of complete scales reduces the rate of subsequent formation of deposits

Our MIRACLEAN BC 8000 is capable of removing scales of carbonates, phosphates, sulphates, copper and oxides, mil scale, silicates and magnetite whereas our MIRACLEAN BC 8000 S removes carbonates, petroleum oil, grease vegetable oil and fats, weld scale, dust and dirt.

CIRCULATION TIME

MIRACLEAN BC 8000 needs to be circulated for 4 to 6 hours and MIRACLEAN BC 8000S for 3 to hours.

The following procedures as per 10391 are methodically adopted by MAKARA in cleaning the border.

1. Water flushing and rinsing
2. Alkaline boilout
3. Acid cleaning
